Drop In Services at Markfield
At Markfield we like to find ways that people can come together and build up friendships and mutual support.
Family Activity Days:
Playground open 11.00 - 3.00pm Saturdays
You don’t have to wait on a waiting list to come to our family activity days. Just drop in on Saturdays from 11.00 - 3.00 and play in our adventure playground.
People over 16 will only be allowed in if they are coming with a child. If you are over 8 and can play without support you are very welcome to come on your own. You don’t need an adult with you.
There is something for everyone-we have great play structures with slides, swings, climbing frames, and a zip wire. You can make dens or a bonfire. Young children will love our under 5s play area. And there’s a café next door if you and your family wants to get a snack.
Family Club
On the 2nd Saturday of each month in term time we open up the whole building. You can come and meet other families, there is food to share and there are Family Support Workers on hand to offer you immediate support and information. Whilst you are responsible for looking after your children, there are Playworkers on hand to help facilitate their play and give you a chance to relax and share your experiences and stories.
Under 5s Stay and Play:
Thursdays 11.30 - 2.30pm Term Time
Young children will love our term time under 5s Stay and Play sessions. It’s a fantastically fun session for both disabled and non-disabled children with lots of toys, activities, soft play and music.
We offer a wide variety of activities that are fun, creative and educational. Families can access the soft play room, garden and adventure playground.
We are also very lucky to have Jo from ‘Rucksack Music’ running her session between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
Our drop-ins are relaxed and friendly and are a great way to meet and chat with other local families. Please come along, have some fun and help support the session by getting involved with our steering group.
Parents & carers groups
Wednesdays 10am-12pm Term Time "Turkish-speaking Parents Group"
Fridays 10am-12pm Term Time "Parent's Group"
Come and meet other carers in a relaxed friendly environment, speak to one of our support workers and learn more about what we can offer you and your family. A crèche is provided for your children. Please let us know if you are bringing them.
